There has been a new firmware package recently released from Amazon. This package will be available for only certain Kindle devices. This update is named as version 5.8.1, it has been introduced to let users be able to save the Wi-Fi password into their Amazon account and it lets whatever device that is allowed to be used automatically.
As well as the above, this update also gives you more ways in which to share books with your friends by using About This Book, along with Kindle Unlimited Recommendations which gives you the chance to freely use Kindle Unlimited as well as seeing recommended titles.

Amazon has also decided to bring back into the library the reading progress dots which makes it possible to see the reading progress as well as the relative book length in the library list view.
Firmware 5.8.1 has been made compatible for the following Amazon Kindles. They are the 6th Generation Kindle, The Paperwhite units, the 7th-gen Kindle, Kindle Voyage, Kindle Paperwhite models and the Oasis (8th Generation table) which is the producer’s new Kindle.
Installing Firmware 5.8.1
When you are installing the package, you need to save the downloadable .bin file that is appropriate for your tablet then copy it into your device’s internal storage, then you need to monitor the transfer so that there are no problems encountered.
Once you have done that then simply go to the Men > Settings > System Updates (there may be a difference in the path from one model to another) and then follow all the instructions which are displayed on-screen to get a successful and complete installation.
